Myra, I wondered if this Moses Quarles you have mentioned in the Rev War could be the son of John Grayson Quarles b ca 1724 in VA and brother of our Moses.John Grayson Quarles had a son Moses that might fit the bill of being in the Revolutionary War.He might have been born ca 1744 or there about and by 1776 he would have been in in late 20's early 30's. I have absloutely no information on him--birth, death or marriage.Does anyone out there have information on this Moses Quarles.
Our Moses born 1727 would have been 49 in 1776.Would he have been "to old" to go to the Rev.War? I was not sure which Moses you might have been talking about but assumed that it might have been Moses born in 1727. Thanks for clarifying.
Oh yes, I do have in my notes the following that I found somewhere... (Moses married)CONSTANCE FISHER, BORN 1755; (NO CHILDREN WITH HER)DAUGHTER OF JAMES FISHER AND MARTHA. (SHE IS KNOWN AS CONSTANT QUARLES IN HER FATHER'S WILL OF ST. ANDREWS PARISH, BRUNSWICK CO.,VA.DATED APRIL 5,1784" Look forward to hearing from you.
