Alright, Myra, since you're the expert, help me out. I'm researching Quarles for someone (two someones, actually), and I've hit a pair of walls. I have a Hubbard Quarles (the one married to Artemissa Parks) listed in the 1851 will of David Quarles in Pickens Co., SC. Supposedly this David is the son of a Moses. I have no idea about Moses; no dates or places or anything. The constant repetition of the names David and Hubbard in the family does seem indicative, though. Do you have any idea which Moses might be the progenitor of this line?
Second Quarles I'm looking for is a John, born about 1775, perhaps in SC or NC. This John was married to Francis Winters. There is some confusion, since some people have posted that Johns' parents were Joseph Thomas Quarles and Mary Willis, while others have that pair as Joseph Thomas Winters and Mary Willis, the grandparents of Francis. There is more proof to the pair being Winters than Quarles, so I'm keeping with that right now. However, that leaves me still trying to find the Quarles.
Any ideas?
