I had tried to send this message below to Jill Williams, but the email bounced.I decided to post it here, but of course have not included the attachment.I am not a Quickfall researcher.The name was unusual, so when I found them, I just wanted to share.
Hope this helps someone,
Sue _____________________________________________________ Hello Jill,
454-457 Francis Quickfall & one adult & two children under 12 years
131-133 Thomas Quickfall & wife & one child under 12 years
This may not be your Quickfall family, but I had looked up the name on the 1901 census, saw your note and wondered whether they might be yours because Francis _had_ indicated an emigration year of 1831.Regardless, probably any Quickfall in Canada are related:-}
I don't know whether you found the 1861 census for Francis, but I found him mistranscribed as ..
"Franios Quickfaw" living at Howick, Huron, Canada West, with Mary (they married in 1846) and six children and possibly his parents (or at least relatives), Francis and Barbara, who married in 1798.I have attached the census sheet.
