I would like to learn more about the siblings of Dorothy.I have a small silver pitcher that is engraved "Bequest from Madam Scott, widow of Gov John Hancock to Ann Parker his niece."
I can see her father was probably Edmund Quincy and mother Wlizabeth Wendell. But who are her brothers and sisters.I picked this off the web at http://www.gis.net/~mtf/dorothy.htmhttp://www.gis.net/~mtf/dorothy.htm
Dorothy Quincy was born the youngest of 10 children in the family home in Boston. When she was five years old the Quincys moved to Quincy, MA where she spent her youth. As a young lady Dorothy Quincy entertained many eligible callers including an officer in the British army and even the dashing Aaron Burr. However, she eventually married the wealthiest man in Boston, who became the first President of the Continental Congress and the first Governor of the new State of Massachusetts.
Known for her hospitality, the stylish Madame Hancock reminisces about the past with her guests. While she does her needlepoint, she embroiders tales with an insider's view of the American Revolution and colonial romance.
