I am sorry to have taken so long to get back to you but I needed to find some research from several years and two computers ago! Finally I have tracked down the following e-mail which I sent to dave Quinney, but received no reply for:
Back in August of 2001 you posted, on the Genforum message board: I have traced backwards from JAMES/ADKINS to approx 1740 when WILLIAM married ELIZABETH. My grandfather was JAMES LEONARD (1881)who married MARY ANN BIRD (m1904)they had 7 children ANNIE,JACK,EDIE,FLORENCE,THOMAS,FRANK HENRY(my dad)&HILDA. I have photos of Cream pot lane, Cropredy.I can tell you that CATHERINE (Bap.Oct 18 1815) parents were WILLIAM (Bap.May 13 1782)& MARY ANN PRITCHARD married Mar 21 1806. If you require any info that you think I may have please e-mail me. regards Dave Quinney.
Foolishly I did not recognise the relevance of this message.I did not connect "JAMES/ADKINS" with my Quinney tree because I thought James was a surname, like Adkins. My wife's maiden name is James and I have been researching James as a surname. Also I had no James Leonard QUINNEY in my tree.I had a James Quinney in the 1881 census and a Leonard Quinney in the 1901 census but I thought they were two different people! Now I realise my mistake. We are both descended from James Quinney and Annie Adkins.
I would very much like to be in touch with you again, partly to swap information and partly because we are, after all, direct 2nd cousins!
Please contact me on this e-mail address, which I use exclusively for Family History."
