John:I have been in touch with the Fordyce family, who also are descendants of Silas' 2nd marriage to Hattie. It is good to hear from you!
If you still have a copy of the Decree, I would sure like to see it, or if you do not, perhaps a docket and page number and/or the County (Cook?)where it was recorded.
The "Bullwinkle" story came from a tale I heard of two young girls going through an old trunk and finding this information. My grandmother (Doris Jamieson Horn, the granddaughter of Silas and my grandmother) said her mother would not speak of the divorce.
I have notes sent to my ancestor, Paul Grant, from "The Unfinished Memoirs of Arthur Robb" sent by a Mrs. Pat Sasscer, who has done volunteer work in Washington, DC at the DAR library. Her line of descent is through Silas' son Harry Clarke Robb.
