Me again. This is a slightly better census transcription:
1930 Louisiana > Vermilion > Broussard Cove > District 13
(name, relationship, age)
Racca, Oday, head, rents, age at 1st marriage 18, occupation farmer
----, Adin D., wife, 31, a.a.f.m. 16
----, Edith, daughter, 12
----, Freddie, son, 10
Birthplace, Father's BP, Mother's BP are all Louisiana for everyone.
Something is odd here - the norm for people in that era was a child every two - three years. You'd expect to see children aged 8, 6, 4,and 2. They may have sent the kids somewhere else, the enumerator may have missed them, they may have died, or "none of the above".
I can't find Oday, Odey or Ode in Vermilion Parish for 1920, 1910 or 1900. The 1900 index is for every person. I can't find anyone likely in all of Louisiana for 1900. If you find out "Oday" was short for something else, via an obit, death record or cemetery record, let me know and I'll try again. Also if you find he used a different name in his youth. (His name might have been "Francois Odey", for instance, and as soon as he moved out of his parents' house he started using plain "Oday" instead of "Francois".)
He is on the SSDI:

ODE RACCA, b. 07 Jun 1897, d. 1977
So, if all else fails and it is worth $27, you can write for his SSN application, which will have his parents' names. This gives you a third spelling, for "Oday", too.
