I have been researching the Moses Race family for a few years and I've been searching for his parents just like some of you. I may have found them. If anyone has already been down this path please let me know.
Now if William was forn abt 1756 like the site says, then this would put him in the correct time line to be Moses's father. I found a Revolutionary Abstract Card for a William Race from Bucks Co, Pa. I later found a William Race listed as captured by a British Ship and he is from PA. PA is not far from NJ obviously. Now later I found a William Race and a John Race in the 1799 tax list for Fauquier Co, Va. I don't find him after that on any census or list. Was he dead before the 1810 census?
To sum this up. I am suggesting that Moses Race was the son of William Race born abt 1756 in New Jersey, moved to Bucks Co, PA during the Revolutionary War, captured by the British, was released after the war and settled in Northern Virginia and died there.
The only problem is that I have no proof to back this up. Could someone please help me?
