Betty has the right family; your May is in a later generation. You may have found all of this in the 10 years since your message was posted, but for the record here:
Your May was the daughter of Roy Cleveland Rackett (born in Richmond, Virginia, 19 Apr 1884, son of Nathaniel Rackett and Margaret Ellen--or Ella--Knauff) and Grace E. Parater. Their first two daughters, Frances M. and May, were born in Richmond (about 1918 and about 1919, respectively); their daughter Virginia (born about 1922) and their son Roy (born about 1925) were born in Indiana. In 1930, they were living in East Chicago, Lake County, Indiana.I believe the son Roy was killed in France in 1944.
Roy was an electrical contractor in Richmond; in Indiana, he was employed as an electrician in a steel mill. The 1930 census lists him as a foreman; his 1942 WWII registration card lists his employer as Carnegie Illinois Steel.
Please contact me; I am just beginning to research this branch of my Rackett family, and you could probably help me fill in some of this Indiana group. My great-grandmother was Elmira Tuttle Rackett, the youngest sister of Nathaniel Rackett, and therefore your grandmother's great-aunt.
