Looking for my Rahilly connections and more...
I am writing to you all, in part because of the nature od the Rahilly Family Genealogy Forum.
I thought I'd send you a note outlining the scant and brief information I have, in the hopes that MAYBE there is a little connection somewhere in the research you've all already done.I hope you don't mind.
The last ancestor who appears to have born the name in Ireland was Cornelius Rahilly, who seems to have become a Riley once he emigrated from Ireland to the US in 1847.
Cornelius Rahilly/Riley
b: 1829 ?
bapt.8/15/1830; Castleisland, Kerry, Ireland
lived in Ardfert Parish, Kerry, Ireland ?
emigrated from Port of Cork 6/15/1848
landed in Buffalo, NY 9/??/1847
declar of intent to be US citizen 4/18/1853
(McLean County, IL.)
m: Hannah Cavanaugh, 9/29/1855
m: Marion Clifford, 8/6/1871
His parents would have been:
Ty (Timothy) and Mary (Cournane) Rahilly
b: sometime in the very early 1800's ?
They appear to have had several children:
Mortimer
Timothy
Cornelius
Daniel
Jeremiah
all appearing to have been baptized in the same place between 1825 to 1842, with Mortimer and Timothy possibly being twins.
That's it, that is everything that I 'know' or suspect to be true.Is there anything, any connection, link, hint of some relationship?
If you have anything on the family above, please let me know, please share with me?
Thank you and God Bless you,
Jim Riley
