Peter P. Rahn, 99, of Bingham Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Good Samaritan Village, Mountain Lake.
Born Dec. 28, 1906, near Butterfield, he was the son of Peter G. and Gertrude Pankratz Rahn. He married Helen M. Harder March 5, 1935, in Mountain Lake. She preceded him in death.
He was educated in Mountain Lake schools. After marriage, they made their home and farmed in Midway Township until moving to their farm in Lakeside Township, Cottonwood County, in 1940. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Windom. He was a 4-H leader, and a member of the Mountain Lake Co-op Elevator board and the Cottonwood County Fair board.
Surviving are five children, Dennis (Terry) Rahn, Marathon, Fla., Noel (Angelina) Rahn, Edina, Jannath (Robert) Dwight, Plymouth, JoAnn (Thomas) Becker, Plymouth, and Scott (Robin) Rahn, Bingham Lake; one sister, Lorena Gruhlke, Visalia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bjerum Funeral Home, Mountain Lake, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Mennonite Church, Mountain Lake.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Mennonite Church, Mountain Lake, with the Rev. Stephen Norby officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to American Lutheran Church, Windom.
