Rail - in New Brunswick, Canada - information needed.
My stepfather was born on a small island just off of New Brunswick, Canada. He is in his late 60's.We always wondered where the name originated and where the lineage started from.My stepfather was brought up speaking French. Both his parents spoke French. His father's name was Joseph Rail.We always thought that it was French with some German.
His father has been deceased for some time now and his mother has just turned 103 yrs old. There has been some question about his lineage being German decent on his father's side. His mother's lineage consist of Native, Eskimo and French. It has been traced back to the 1600's.
His mother is ethier full or three-quarter's native from what I can currently recall. This was a suprise to all of us and just found this out this year.
Does anyone have any info on this lineage being in New Brunswick, Canada.
Thanks Shelley.
