In the geneological records contributions in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, numerous references are made that Tobitha Clark, daughter of Charles Clark and Hannah Denton, "Married and moved West." There is no indication of who she married and the Bledsoe County, Tennessee marriage records were burned in a courthouse fire.
In searching, I only found one Tobitha (spelled several ways by census takers) that could be TOBITHA CLARK. She appears in 1850 in Cadron, Van Buren, Arkansas with husband James P Rainey and children, Robert 4 and Eliza 1. The surname looks promising since there were early settlers to Bledsoe by that surname as well as a cemetery known as the Rainey Cemetery in the county.
In 1860 the family is in Gray, White, Arkansas with two more children Wm David 9, and John R 5.
By 1870 the family was in Harrison, White, Arkansas.
The 1880 Texas census has the Raineys in Dallas, Dallas, Texas.
A Rainey son died in 1926, William D. Rainey, and is buried in:
