Frances Rainsford was the daughter of Edward Ransford(Will dated 1789) of Richmond, Co. Dublin.Edward Ransford (Will dated 1743) was the grandfather of Frances.Sir Mark Ransford, the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1700/01 was the great grandfather of Frances.
I have a copy of the deed between Mark Ransford and Arthur Guinness, as well as 'The Rainsford Family' by Emily Buckland, 1932, which goes into detail about Frances Ransford and General Doyle."Captain" Doyle commanded the Volunteers of Ireland in Philadelphia in the American war of Independence before we kicked them out of town.My line of Rainsfords came from Ireland to Philadelphia in the Famine.
I have information from the three Wills of Sir Mark Ransford, His son Mark, and his grandson Mark that will also be helpful.I am researching the William Raynsford that was said to be Mayor of Londonderry at the time of the seige by James II in 1689 and the father of Sir Mark Ransford. My recent research points to this family descending from the Essex, England Rainsfords.
