I have a William H. (Harvey?) Allen who married Maria Razee or Razey. She was born in Somerset (I believe in NY) She is the daughter of Reuben Razee and Ilona - both natives of VT. Reuben's father was Benjamin Razee (I assume of VT)
Also: Harvey E. Allen married Fidelia Razee Phoebe Razee married Albert Brown
Fidelia and Phoebe were sisters of Maria.
Maria Razee Allen died June 29, 1918
William H. Allen andMaria Razee had two daughters: Minnie - who married Fred Hoffman
Orpha Clarissa Allen who married George C. Dickenson or Dickerson or Dickinson Orpha C and George C had 5 children: Dorothy, Randall, Mildred, Lois, Mary
All of that info from Ancestry.com in a sort of History of Niagara Co, NY with some bio on it.Info found on pp 699 and 700.
I am chasing down Clarissa Fairman who married Harvey Allen in the same area.Apparently Clarissa was a popular name at that time - BUT! It may show some family ties to the Razee or Razey, etc families in VT
In the 1880 US Federal Census (LDS/Family search free site) Clarissa is married to Harvey Allen and states her parents were both from VT. Harvey Allen states his father was born in VT but his mother in NY
They are found in Hartland, Niagara County, NY
Harvey Allen was born in 1810 in Oneida County, NY and died in 1891 Hartland, Niagara Co, NY
Clarissa Fairman was born July 1815 in Plattsburgh, Clinton, NY There is confusion about when Clarissa was born since different census' years from 1860 to 1880 have different estimated years.
in the 1860 US Federal Census: William Allen age 22, born @ 1828 NY appears to be the son His name may be William H. Allen a farmer from Somerset. He was b. Cambria, Niagara, NY Nov 10, 1837 son of Harvey Allen and Clarissa Fairman Allen. William H. Allen died age 84. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church .
I only post the Allens here because of connection in their children to the Razee family.I have not been able to find Benjamin or Reuben with the name Razee - so will keep looking.
Another entry states:
Clarissa Fairman married Jacob Empy on Mar 26, 1816. He from Canada West and she from Constable. married at the home of Mr. Fairman (I assume her father) in the Village of French Mills now called Ft.Covington.PERHAPS SOME OF THE RAZEE FAMILY LIVED IN THAT AREA. A note said: Franklin County may have been Clinton County, NY - I am not sure which state this Franklin County is in.... However, Maria Razee was born in Somerset - is that NY also? or VT? I believe it to be in NY - will check the 1895 US Atlas (free site on the internet)
Hope this info does not help confuse, but help find RAZEE (AND VARIOUS SPELLINGS) FAMILIES.
