For those of you interested in the Rawlins families of Gwinnett, I have a copy of the will of John C. Rawlins who lived in Pulaski Co. and died there in 1859 at the age of 49.He is buried in what is now Dodge Co. His will left a life est. to his wife, Sarah, if living, with remainder to his niece, "Melissa Bush Faucett, wife of Twiggs Faucett, now of Gwinnett County."He named as his executor, "trusty friend and worthy relative Nicholas Rawlins" of Pulaski Co.
That Nicholas was born 1824 to John and Elizabeth, who lived in Pulaski Co.John was born about 1789 and Elizabeth about 1798.Both from S.C.John and Elizabeth also had Pheriba; Lydia/Elizabeth(abt.1827); Rebecca (abt. 1836); Mary/Polly (abt. 1829), Samuel C. and Geo. W.(abt. 1839).Elizabeth appears to have died by 1856 and John about 1859.
John C. (of the will) was brother to a Samuel of Gwinnett whose will was dated 1857 and filed 1862.Samuel mentioned wife of 28 years, Elizabeth, dau. Mary mar. to Moses Harris; dau. MALISSA B. married to TWIGGS FOSSIT; sons, Thos. H., John D. and daus. Queen Ann Victoria, Elizabeth, Martha and Francis L.
John C.'s widow Sarah/Sallie married again in March,1860 to a William Forrest.
It would appear that John, father of Nicholas, may have been a brother to the father of John C. and the Samuel above.
