It was a "Religious Petition" whose pages were sewn or joined together with wax seals and presented to the Virginia Assembly on the 16th October 1776.It was signed by at least 10 Thousand Individuals, a fact from which it gets it's name.
There are typewritten lists taken from the document but the original pages will give one "The Signature" of one's ancestor - if he "Signed".Some did not and the official in charge signed for them, inserting an "X", to indicate the gentleman in question, did not "Sign" his name.
If one's ancestor "Signed" on the pages of this document, it is possible to identify them as your very own from other "Signed Documents" in your possession, gathered in from your research.
It is a marvelous and wonderful way to further identify one's Virginia Ancestor.
For the record, I have not communicated with you outside of the GenForum.
