"Henry Day...Transported to VA 1653 by Charles Grimes. And then: Jonathan Grimes was Executor of Joseph Ray's Will in 1766 Bedford Co VA."
I am amazed that you found this connection so quickly.I did not disclose in my initial post that a first cousin Day and I were close matches to a Grims (similar to Grimes)located in Western Finland (Vora, Finland) on a 67 marker Y-DNA test, but no Day's whatsoever.I initially tried to dismiss this, as there was a Simon Ray in the UK that I also matched.
This makes me think there is a blood relationship between Grimes, Ray and this Henry Day.What I can tell you is that although my name is Day, I do not match other people outside my immediate family with the name Day. Is there any known Finn relationship within the Ray family?I know that the Vikings settled throughout Europe. My Y-DNA test revealed that I have haplogroup I1a with mutation M253, which is localized to Nordic people in and around Western Finland.
Would it be possible for you to send me details concerning the records you found? My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org .
