I think I have found conclusive evidence to link Lucy Miriam Parks, daughter of Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda Rayfield, as the wife of Thomas F. Wadlow.
On the LDS website, there is an entry for Lucy Miriam Parks, which cites her parents as Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda Rayfield. It lists her birth date as December 4, 1853 in Reynolds, Missouri.
Another LDS entry lists 10 children born to Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda Rayfield, one of whom is Lucy Miriam Parks, born December 4 ,1853, Reynolds, Missouri. This page shows Andrew Jackson Parks to have been born in Georgia on November 13, 1823 and Lucinda Rayfield, in Kentucky on September 20, 1826.
Another LDS entry shows that Lucy M. Parks married Thomas F. Wadlow on August 5, 1875 in Reynolds, Missouri.
Thomas F. Wadlow (my wife’s gr gr grandfather) was born in MO in 1854. His parents were John W. Wadlow and Cynthia Tharpe (Thorp?). John W. was born to William Wadlow and Nancy Bishop. William was born to John Wadlow and Mary Arnold.
The LDS website for Otho M. Wadlow (my wife’s gr grandfather) shows his parents to be Thomas F. Wadlow and Lucy Miriam Parks. Otho’s birthdate is given as 1876 in MO. We know it to be February 4, 1877.
The online Reynolds County Marriage records show Thomas F. Wadlow married Lucy M. Parks on August 5, 1878. I believe the year should be 1875 as in the LDS records due to birth of their children, or their first 2 children were married out of wedlock.
The 1880 census records show Thomas Wadlow and Lucy M. Wadlow living in Jackson, Reynolds, Missouri. Their ages are given as 26 and 26. Children living with them included George V. (age 4), Other M. (age 3) and William A. (age 1). George V. should be George W. and Other M. should be Otho M., my wife’s gr great grandfather. All the ages are consistent with my wife’ relatives. The only problem is that it lists Lucy’s parent’s birthplaces as MO.
The online Illinois Statewide Death Index 1916-1950 shows that Lucy M. Wadlow died in Otterville on August 6, 1942 at the age of 88. You can also find this info including her birth date of December 4, 1853 on the JCHS website obituaries. You can find it at http://www.rootsweb.com/~iljersey/obits/obit-w.htmlhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~iljersey/obits/obit-w.html The birth date is consistent with Lucy Miriam Parks, daughter of Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda Rayfield.
I just found another reference to Lucy M. in the 1930 Jersey Co., Illinois, Quarry Township Census Page 5B. You can access this image at http://www.geocities.com/quarrycensus/5b.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/quarrycensus/5b.html It lists Lucy M. Wadlow living with her son Holla T. (my wife’s great granduncle) and his wife Nancy M. It gives Lucy’s birthplace as Missouri, but more importantly her father’s as Georgia (consistent with Andrew Jackson Parks) and her Mother’s as Kentucky (consistent with Lucinda Rayfield).
There is quite a lot of info on the ancestry of Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda Rayfield in the LDS records as well as ancestry.com.
