I asked my 86 year-old mother about her mother's ancestry. My great grandfather came to Canada in 1902 and died in about 1903 or 1904.My grandmother, Josephine Rear, went back to Iowa around 1904 to 1910 to work in her Uncle Joe's store. She later became a practical nurse and worked in the Salvation Army.
Her father, Charles and his wife, Agnes were
married in England.Agnes Corbett came from Lancashire in Northern England. They were coal miners.
Charles and Agnes had 11 children, one of whom was my grandmother, Josephine. One of their sons was Charles Rear.He had several children, one of whom was Bert Rear.Bert died a few years ago but he had written a history of the family. Two of his sons live near Rocky Mountain House. They may have a copy of their dad's book.Their names are:
Marvin H. Rear
