just started doing family tree. I have contemporary copies of letters written in 1907 by my great-grandmother Martha Reason. Her parents James McCaffary and Hannah Taylor appear to have been married in Manchester Cathedral in 1851. Reason was her married name. I don't know if she met her husband John Reason in Manchester. Their daughter Martha Reason was my grandmother and married Joseph Wallace Crocker in Portsea in 1903. One of her brothers was Hugh 'Skip' Reason, a respected Navy man who lived in Portsmouth, and another was Patsy Reason who died in the Battle of Coronel off the Falklands in the first world war. I don't know if any of this links up!
