Thank you Nancy!
It doesn't appear that this is the Daniel that I'm looking for.The Daniel that I'm looking for apparently married a Margaret Miller.Their children were:John, Daniel, Henry, Nancy, Christian, Katie, Benjamin, Jacob, Elizabeth, and Joseph. They may have had some other children after that.Isn't it strange though that there were apparently 3 different Daniel Reasors living in VA?Although, the information that I have says that the territory that (my) Daniel settled in was sometimes claimed as Virginia, and sometimes as Pennsylvania.
One piece of information that I have is that listed in a census of 1790, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania (Harrisburg-PA) there was a Daniel Reasor (1 male over 16, 2 males under 16 & 3 females), also a Christian Reasor (1 male over 16, 3 males under 16 & 6 females), and also a Peter Reeser (but no listings of genders).
Another piece of information I have is that the 1800 Census of Dauphin Co., Lebanon Twp. PA lists Daniel Reasor, age 26-45, wife same age, and 3 other males, 6 females in family.(Isn't that some discrepancy in age?26-45?)
Some other info I have is:(1) Daniel Reasor listed in 1782 tax list, Pennsylvania Archives, Vol. 17, 3rd series, pg. 840, Lancaster Co. PA Bethel Twp.; (2) Listed same place, July 9, 1782 as Sanel Reazer, in military accounts records of Comptroller General, Harrisburg-PA; (3) Listed 1784 as Daneal Reazer, Muster Roll of Capt. Hanning, same place-see PA Archives, Vol. 3, 6th series, pg. 467; (4) Listed as Danel Reazer 1786, PA Archives, Vol. 3, 6th Series, Pg. 404 as living in Dauphin Co. PA (Dauphin Co. was formed from part of Lancaster Co. in 1785); (5) Certificate from Comptroller General, Military Accounts (Militia) Records, at the Division of Public Records, Harrisburg, PA:"This is to certify that one Daneal Reazer was enrolled as a Private in 2nd Class, Captain Mathias Henning's 8th Company, 2nd Battalion, Lancaster Co. Militia, according to the evidence of a True List dated July 9, 1782.Residence ascribed:Bethel Township."
I am working from some papers that my father's cousins put together--this was before computers!I don't have the fainted idea about how to do any searches--I've tried the internet, but without a lot of success--everything seems to want you to pay fees before you can investigate the material--If you have any tips for me, I'd appreciate it!!Thanks.
