From a family reunion journal kept by Records in my line, the following was extracted from the first page, which dates to circa 1928:
Francis Burdette Record, b. June 6, 1821, d. June 20, 1906, married Eliza T. Barber, b. Apr 13, 1824, d. Dec 12, 1872.They were married Feb 23, 1845 in Upperville, NY, by Elder Comfort Record.
Children were Almeron B. b. abt 1848, Sprague b. abt 1858, Alice, Julia, Abbie Nettie, and Mary.
Both Francis and Eliza are buried in the Pudney family plot in Sherburne, NY.
In the 1880 census, Francis gave his name as Frank Record, and he was employed as a store clerk, residing in the household of dry goods merchant Edward Andrews. He gave birthplace as Ohio and his parents birthplaces as NY for both. His sons Sprague and Almeron both gave their mother's (Eliza Barber) birthplace as RI.
Can anyone connect my gg-grandfather Francis Record to the several other Records in villages and hamlets surrounding Norwich, Chenango Co., NY?I'd be happy to provide any info I have on his descendants.
