John Record III was born 6 August 1774 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, the son of the Baptist minister, the Rev. John Record, Junior (born about 1750; married 7 October 1773 in South Kingstown, Kings County ((now Washington County)), Rhode Island; died 20 February 1819, Bangall, Dutchess County, New York) and Mary Donwell (buried 1841, Greenwood Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York). I have no further information about John Record III, although I have descendancy tables to the present for three of his ten brothers and two sisters: James, Israel, and Seth. Notably, James Record (6 August 1774, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York; 21 October 1855, Dewittville, Chautauqua County, New York) was married on 25 March 1801 in Grafton, Rensselaer County, New York, where many of his sibs had moved to surround one of the Baptist satellite mission churchs of their father in Kinderhook.Following New England naming customs, your John Record may be a grandson of John Record III.You can test this by examing the will of John Record in Dutchess County Probate Court.
