Not absolute sure who John's parents were but its possible they were Lowerence/Lawrence Redcloud and Sarah Foster. John was at the Battle of Little Big Horn at the age of 14 years and came to Illinois after the battle. He was an Indian Scout before coming to Illinois. He was very nowledgeable about herbal medicine. He worked on a farm and served as deputy sheriff in Pulaski County for several years around Perks. ............................................. John RedCloud was my great-great grandfather. (not sure where this source came from but he wasn't my gggrandfather)His mother, Sarah Foster, was a sister to Chief RedCloud. Her Indian name was Blue Thunder. I have no info on Lawrence except his name being listed on John's marriage license. He may have given a false name as my grandfather did some research on Lawrence and could not come up with anything. Blue Thunder had a baby boy. Family history says that when Chief RedCloud came to see the baby he asked Blue Thunder to name him RedCloud after him. John also had a sister named Mrs. Peter Crazy Bear. He came to Ullin, Illinois after the Battle of Little Bighorn with a Mr. Grear (possibly his brother). He was born 9/10/1863 in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma and died 12/23/1937 in Perks, Illinois. He is buried in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Wetaug, Illinois. He married Fannie Peeler on 2/9/1891. She was born 8/13/1872, died 3/7/1917, and is buried in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. She was the daughter of Pleas Peeler and Nancy Meisenheimer. John worked on farms and was a deputy sheriff in Pulaski Co., IL. They had six children.
