Hi Ladies: [changed email address] My gr-grandfather, Laurence A. GIBNEY [April 1860 - Abt.1951]had a sister, Hannah, who married 'the hired man,' John REDNER, who took over the Gibney Family Farm [see GIBNEY Family Forum][esp re burial plot there; might be some Redners in it], somewhere near the road [now Rte. 293] from Highland Falls to Central Valley, NY.Over the years, the Redners acquired most of the Gibney property in and around Lake Popolopen, now in West Point's "Camp Buckner." (Hard feelings persisted as long as any of the Gibneys, including my grandmother, survived.) The Redners later sold it to someone named 'Julian' who turned the family homestead into a road house. (It might have been a speakeasy at one time!)We have a postcard of the place: "MINE LAKE HOTEL" "B. Julian" "Central Valley Road, Highland Falls, 513". It's clearly facing the road, and I'm betting it's facing Mine Lake, across the road. In my grandmother's handwriting it says: "Under stone facade is a white clapboard house, home of Laurence Gibney 1872"Laurence left at 16 and went to NYC, etc etc etc.
What I wd like to know is: all the details about "Daniel S. Redner II was husband of Mary GIBNEY born in Ireland in 1834." !!! Please give me the details. Thanks.
