Kathy,my answer to your question is this. I have some information in my files which was received from another Reeb researcher that does indicate a relationship between the earliest known Reeb in the town of Gottesheim and one of two different Reeb families in Zutzendorf. However, first I have not verified, with my own research, the accuracy of the information linking the Reeb family in Gottesheim to the Reeb family in Zutzendorf. However, if you are speaking of real close relationship between your George Reeb who settled in Hornitos and did become quite successful in his butcher business then the answer is no. Many generations had passed before George Reeb, born in Zutzendorf, and Barbara & her sister Anna Reeb were born in Gottesheim. My own personal research of the Reeb families in Zutzendorf did not get further back in time than the early 1700s and my information on the Reeb family in Gottesheim was all received from other persons...one a descendant of Zutzendorf Reebs and one from a descendant of the Reeb family in Gottesheim. So therefore I cannot substantiate that the Reeb families in the two towns were related even in early years or not.
