During the era of the 1840s and years following there were many REEB descendants to emigrate from the village of Keskastel in the western most part of Bas-Rhin, France to the city of Columbus, Ohio and surrounding townships. Besides the surname of REEB, there were the children and grandchildren of many of the REEB women whose surnames were Schille, Deutsch, Mager, Maurer, Schneider, Fischer, Reiter, and others. Of course many of the Reeb males continued to remain in Franklin County assuring the continuation of the name in that area. Also, their sisters, and their daughters and cousins married and had children thus increasing the population in Franklin County, Ohio and the number of REEB descendants who do not bear the surname Reeb. I am presently working to record the genealogy of all Reeb descendants in Franklin County as elsewhere who trace their ancestry back in time to the branch of our family who emigrated from the Keskastel area.
