Paul Willy Reinhardt, 86, of Rockaway, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at home, following a short illness. Paul was born in Dover and has been a resident of Rockaway Township for 64 years. He was a fireman in the Engine Room while serving in the Merchant Marines during WW II. He was a member of the Am. Merchant Marine Vets. He worked in Maintenance at Bell Labs, Whippany, and retired in 1991 after 29 years. He also worked for Hercules Powder Company, Kenvil for 11 years where he held a Black Seal Boiler License and at Morristown Memorial Hospital for 3 years.
Survived by his wife, Ruth of 64 years; two sons, Glen A. of Rockaway Township and David W. of Snowflake, AZ; daughter, Shirley G. (Reinhardt) Varcadipane of Tinton Falls; 5 grandchildren, Tammy (Reinhardt) Szyba, Eric Reinhardt, Brooke Peterson and Jordan and Jason Varcadipane; 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Derek & Emma Reinhardt and Tessa Szyba. Also survived by his niece, Dr. Susan Bonitz Lundell; his nephew, Barry Bonitz and his cousin, Elfrieda (Schlettler) Tygar of Rockaway Township. Predeceased by his sister, Helen Reinhardt Bonitz in 2010.
