PHILIP ANDREW REINHART, 82, of the Holiday City Carefree section of BERKELEY PHILIP ANDREW REINHART, 82, of the Holiday City Carefree section of BERKELEY, died Friday, Feb. 1, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in North Arlington for 20 years before moving to Berkeley 25 years ago. Mr. Reinhart was a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office, Newark for 38 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II, achieving the rank of private first class. Philip was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Berkeley, where he served as altar server and was a member of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the V.F.W. Post 10185, Berkeley, a former member of the Holiday City Carefree Board of Directors, and served as treasurer of the Holiday City Carefree Bowling League.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Antoinette Abate Reinhart; and a daughter, Mary Ellen Reinhart of Philadelphia, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Berkeley. Burial to follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
