Here in Nova Scotia, Canada, we have many people named RHINDRESS (rhin = same pronunciation as 'rein' in the name REINTJES). If not, perhaps they are a different spelling of REINDERS.
We had many early German and some Dutch settlers in the period 1750-1775 and again after the end of the Revolutionary War (1783-1790), such as WHYNOT (weinacht) and ZINCK. Many settled in and around Lunenburg, NS, about one hour south of the capital Halifax. Of course, after the Second World War we had another large influx of people, including many from the Netherlands.
