RELPH-DAILEY
I would like to correspond with anyone working on the RELPH family of Cranston and Providence, RI.
Our "Pardon RELPH (alias DAILEY)" md. Mary HATHAWAY (dau. of Jeremiah HATHAWAY and Ruth RUTENBERG) on 2 Mar 1758 in Warwick, RI.They lived in No. Kingstown, RI until about 1774.From his marriage onward, Pardon went by the name of Pardon DAILEY and marched to fight in the Battle of Bennington in No. Hoosick, NY in 1776.By 1790, he was in Washington Co., NY where he evidently died.
Could Pardon have been the step-son ofRELPH and took back his birth name when he reached majority or was he a RELPH by birth and adopted the name DAILEY?Was he related to the Samuel RELPH of Cranston, RI who md. Catharine DALEY in Nov 1762 in Cranston, RI?Pardon named a son Samuel DAILEY.
