Adrian Daily Telegram, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, pg 2A Gilbert V. Relyea Obit ADRIAN — Gilbert V. Relyea, age 59, of Adrian passed away at Toledo Hospital on Monday, March 3, 2008. He was born in Tecumseh, on July 29, 1948, the son of Edgar and Rea (Miller) Relyea. After graduating from Onsted High School, he attended Michigan State University. Gilbert proudly served his country in the Air Force. Gilbert worked as a ramp agent for Eastern Airlines. He was a life member of the DAV. Gilbert will be remembered for the wonderful cookies he made and shared with family and friends. Gilbert is survived by his aunt, Esther (Cecil) Etter of Arvada, Colo.; several cousins, Charles (Mary) Relyea of Clayton, Susan Relyea of Limestone, Tenn., Irene (Bill) Cole, Linda (William) Rohweder and Deborah Cox, all of Adrian; Elizabeth (Nathan) Olsen of Arvada, Colo., Marjorie Relyea and Marilyn (Kenneth ) Meyers both of Merrit, Mich. Also surviving are three stepsisters, Nancy (David) Mehan of Adrian, Judy (Mike) Campbell of Slidell, La., and Linda (Ariel) Hermofo of West Palm Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Paul Shafer; a brother, Franklin Relyea; and a cousin, Darlene Feldkamp. The funeral service for Gilbert will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2008, at the Wagley Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Frame and the Rev. Michael Dunson officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, March 6, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions in memory of Gilbert may be made to the DAV, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
