Auris Remsen and Ann Bergen had SIX (6) children: In addition to Aury, Susanna, Altje, Jannetje, and Rem, there was a son named John Remsen, bapt. 9/4/1798, who married Alette Hendrickson. These children were named in Aury Remsen's will dated April 1, 1839 and proved Jan. 10, 1840.
Aurus Remson signed Queens County Declaration Jan. 19, 1776. He served in Alexander Hamilton's Train as an artileryman, and was a minute man in the Suffolk County, NY milita, 1st Regimen, under Col. Josiah Smith.(Robert's "New York in the Revolution as Colony and State," vol. 1, page 171) He was listed in the 1790 New York Census, Queens County, page 150, as Orrey Remsen.
