Hi Tristan, Maries parents were Monsieur[ meaning he owned a number of properties] Jean Renouf baptized 5 Nov 1598[ godfather Gilles du Hamel] Town Church Guernsey who married Catherine Gibaut on 13 Aug 1623 at Town Church. Catherine was buried 14 Nov 1679. They had 5 children; 1]Jean bapt 6 Jun 1624 [ Robert Renouf godfather]who married Jaquine Carey 8 Jan 1661. 2] Robert bapt 17 Feb 1626/7 [ Jean Gibaut godfather]. He married Joanne Hues 23 April 1657. 3 Ester bapt 17 Sept 1647 [ Charles Manche] 4] Maria [ no bapt. found] buried 11 Aug 1710 5] Catherine [also no bapt found] buried 23 Aug 1713 who married Isaac Gibaut and Jean Martin.
Jean bapt 1598 was son of Robert Renouf and Romaine Mahaut. [Roberts father was Jean of Normandy and his mother may be Guillamaine Le Fellya [ name appears on some old property records] Monsieur Jean [ b 1598] was one of the 12 Commissioners of Guernsey appointed by Charles 1 of England in 1643 to rule the Island. Other Commissioners were Peter de Beauvoir, James De Havilland, Jean Quetteville junior; Pierre Carey, Josue Gosselin; James e Marchant, Eleazor Le Marchant; Thomas Dubree, Henri La Manche Pierre De Beauvoir and Andrew Monamy.
