Ed: Your Lewis sounds like maybe one of my great,great-uncle Lewis's children or perhaps a child of one of his siblings.
I am a great,great-grandson of his brother, Jonas. I have Lewis married to Nancy America Cory on January 31, 1844, in Elkhart, IN,but I don't know about his children. Lewis was born May 20, 1821, and died October 5, 1904. I have pictures of him, his mother, Elizabeth Hartzell, and some of his siblings.
His brother, Adam, spent time in MN, and another brother, Charles Turpin Rentfrow, married Phoebe King in Hennepin Co., MN. She died there in Fergus Falls on April 25, 1900.
Your Lewis married Nina Chapel about 1904 and my Lewis died in October, 1904, so they are not the same person but I'm sure there's some connection. Adam had a son named "Lew". Charles had a daughter named Clara. My grandfather had a son named Clyde and there are many Roberts throughout (my middle name, in fact.)
