Yes, the names are certainly related... and there are even more variations (eg.Rentmaster, Rheinmaster, etc..). Originally, the name is spelled Rentmeesters, just like mine and comes from one of my father's great-uncles who emigrated to Wisconsin somewhere in the 1850's (I believe). The family tree already exists and goes back to the 1600's, although it's probably not updated since the 1970's. I do have a copy at home, so please let me know if you need any information.
