Nice to hear from you, Louvenia.I count that visit as one of the high points of my life.Dauernheim is a village of perhaps 1000 people with just one church, Lutheran.Very small, seating perhaps 100 people. My wife and I were able to explore the church alone one day with the permission of the pastor. We knelt at the altar where Casper was baptized and I prayed for all of our family. It was a very moving moment for me.We then were also able to worship with the congregation on Sunday. I am grateful that our ancestors decided to emmigrate to America instead of any other country on the earth.Had they not, I probably would have been raised as a Hitler Youth (perish the thought!).Casper's son, Conrad (my ancestor), fought in the Rev. War and I am an SAR through him. Please stay in touch. Glenn Repp, Duncanville, Texas.
