I'm sorry, I meant to tell you that I was born and reared in Plaquemine, LA, but now reside in Houma, LA.When my ggrandparents, Frederick Repp and Barbara Stein (Miller) married, they had traveled to New Orleans, and from there went to Iberville Parish, which is the same as above.
As knowledgeable as I am about the roots of the Repps, These two people have been my brick wall for some twelve years.I've managed to find where a Frederick Repp made his "Oath of Allegiance" in PA.So, I plan to send off for the paper work on him.Hopefully that will answer my questions.I have never been able to find them on any ship, etc.
So was I reared on a farm.Unfortunately, I was the baby of five children, so I was never allowed to go into the garden, etc.I did however, attempt to milk a cow at my uncle's dairy farm in Amite, when the electricity went off and the milking machines went down.I could every now and again get the milk to come out, but between the cow next door, the floor and myself, not much ever made it into the bucket. At this point my uncle chased me out of the barn, for which I cried the rest of the day with my feelings hurt, for which my aunt chewed him out every few minutes.
Please feel free to use my e-mail address. It's LouveniaS@aol.com.
The other thing I wanted to say was that quite a few of the Plaquemine Repps, moved to Texas. These are all cousins.I'm just not sure what city they moved to.If you come across any, they could be the same.
God's blessings to you and your wife.
