Donata's notes Sept. 1995 I have found one cousin for sure who is KSKERN that is his screen name and his name is Chistopher Sean Kern he is the grandson of Clifford Kern and Mary Ellen Resler, Mary Ellen is my great grandpa Hobart Resler's sister, so Sean is my 3rd cousin.
Now also in the month of Sept. 1995 I found another person a lady on AOL her screen name is DotSEZ and her name is Dorothy Jones, she lives in Columbus Ohio .And she and Sean and I believe we are related through her Barbara (RESLER)Senff who married Christian Senff, Barbara was the dau. of Daniel Resler born in Berks co.Pa in 1752. We believe that Barbara (Resler)Senff and Sean and I's David Resler was brother and sister. Here is what Dorothy emailed me on AOL on 10-2-1995.
From Dorothy Jones to me Donata:
I'am certain that your David Resler and my Barbara Resler were brother and sister. The dates and place of death I have listed for David correspond to yours, so welcome from a real live cousin!
This is the information I have in regard to Daniel Resler, some of which does not dovetail with that of Barbara Harness, regarding his place of birth. Further research is indicated.
Daniel Resler was born in Berks co. Pa. in 1752. Little is known of his early life, but he later settled on a stream of water in Fayette co. which still bears his name (Resler's Run) about 1787.
He died in that locality before 1817. He had three (some say four, adding William) sons and three daughters, the latter becoming the wives of Solomon Kern, Christian Senff and John Murphy. Daniel and David Resler, two of his sons, later moved to Ohio. His other son, John, married a daughter of Peter Bruner and lived on Resler's Run until his death.
Daniel Resler was an active member of the United Brethern Church, after its founding. The congregation of which he was a member maintained a preaching service at homes of several members, among whom were Daniel Resler, Solomon Kern (Who married Christina Resler) and Rev. Christian Senff (who was married to Barbara Resler)
As you can see from this, the information I have obtained is that he was born in 1752, two years after the Daniel Resseler mentioned by Barbara Harness arrived in the United States. My data states that he was the son of John Resler, born 1734 in Lancaster, Pa, died in 1806, and Elizabeth Ritenour, born in Fredrick Co. Mo. date unknown.
Daniel was married to Anna Barbara Schaeffer, and their children were:
1. Barbara, born 1775 in Fayette co. Pa., diedCa. 1820, buried in Gute Hoffnung Cemetery, and a member of the United Brethren Church. She was married toRev. Christian Senff and had the following children: Daniel, John (my great great grandfather), David, Catherine, Solomon, Christian, Susanna, Barbara,Philip and Jacob.
2. Anna Maria Elizabeth, born 1776, married to John Murphy.
3. Daniel, born ca. 1783.
4. Christina, born before 1785, married to Solomon Kern.
5. John , born 28 Mar. 1790, died Mar. 1855, married to Esther Bruner.
6. David, born between 1795 and 1799, Fayette Co. died 1850, Sugar Creek Twp., Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
7. William, born ca. 1794.
This is most of the information I have of this family to that point, other than what I know of Barbara and Christian Seneff, who, of course, were my ancestors.
Bill Everett answered an ad I ran in the PALATINE CHATTER, put out by a German heritage genealogical association. I got much of my information from him, for he has been all over Fayette Co. searching for family members. He
has not phoned me, but I'am assuming that he is off somewhere this beautiful
time of year.
Dorothy Jones, Columbus, Ohio . Good to be corresponding with a new relative. Talk with you soon.
This is the end of Dorothy Jones letter to me!!

Sorry so long!
