Ralph William Reuter passed away on 21 January, 2006, at Arcadia California. Ralph was the son of Michael George Reuter (1898-1968) and Mary Reisler (ca 1902-1939), born in Chatham, New Jersey on 24 August, 1922.
He attended (?) High School and joined the Navy at sixteen or seventeen years of age. His tour of duty included the Pacific theater during the second world war, and he served first on USS Chester at Pearl Harbor and later on the USS Franklin. After this service he worked briefly in the Middle Eastern countries on oil equipment maintenance.
After this career he married and started to settle in New Jersey. Two daughters resulted from this early marriage: Janet Reuter and Susan Reuter. He later divorced and moved to California, where he studied engineering.He next began work in air conditioning and boiler maintenance.
In 1960-1961 he met and married Margaret Wood (1928-2005) and they started a family in Los Angeles California. Five children were produced from this marriage: Michelle Reuter, Michael Reuter (now of Alaska), Stephan Reuter of Los Angeles, Theodore Reuter (now of Virginia) and Julie (Reuter) Taylor (now of Oildale, CA).
One of Ralph's proudest accomplishments was his membership in MENSA.
His former wife Margaret predeceased him in December of 2005, and he is survived by his seven children and several grandchildren, his current wife Nancy, and his youngest sister Mary Reuter of Chatham, New Jersey. Ralph also predeceased his sister Anne (Reuter) O'Neil.
His widow Nancy is making local arrangements in Arcadia, California.
