Correction time!Since placing this post, I've learned that Elizabeth Crawford Glenn, whose second husband was William Rhymes, was NOT the father of Willis J. Rhymes of Warren County, GA.Elizabeth and William probably had no children together, given their ages.
Census data and other records clearly point to TWO Elizabeths from VA, both born about 1772.Both married a Rhymes and died in GA.Both had a daughter named Eliza A., too (one was Eliza A. Glenn, and the other was Eliza A. Rhymes). What are the odds?!
However, one Elizabeth (Crawford) married William Rhymes and died in Meriwether County GA in 1855 (per her obit), and the other Elizabeth married Willis Rhymes and died in Morgan County GA in 1852 (per her will).Willis J. Rhymes (1812-1856) was the son of Willis and Elizabeth Rhymes of Warren & Morgan counties in GA.
William and Willis were probably related, but how? And, how did John & Celia Rhymes figure into the equation? Can anyone clarify how these folks are related?
