JoAnn Davis Richeson, 64, of Athens, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
A native of Decatur, and a longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Bryan and Artie Lee Chandler Davis, and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Athens Products, K-Mart and Kentucky Fried Chicken. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Davis; one granddaughter, Madison Zoe Millsaps; and her father-in-law, James Daily Richeson.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Dennis Richeson of Athens; one daughter, Delena Richeson of Houston, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Khristina Richeson of Trenton, Mich.; one special grandson, Cody Richeson of Athens; five grandsons, Michael DePuh, Nicholas and Joey Saniato and Ryan and Connor Richeson; one granddaughter, Ashton Richeson-Hall; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Francis Wattenbarger of Ten Mile, and Pearline and Leuty Vaughn of Athens; one brother, Melvin Davis of Cleveland, Ohio; her mother-in-law, Leona "Toni" Carroll Richeson of Athens; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Carl and Bettye Kaye Richeson of Athens, and Jerry Richeson of Eugene, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Rymer officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Wilson, Butch Wilson, Keith Wattenbarger, Jeremy Wilson, Jon Wilson and Benji Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
