I belive the Maria Richman who appears on the 1870 Mason City, Illinois census is my great grandmother but I'm not certain. Many of the names on that census match information I have from other sources but not everything lines up perfectly.
For example, my mother has a photo of Alfred Richman who is listed on the census. My mother didn't know how Alfred relates.
Charlotte Richmond who is on the census is a witness to the wedding of Maria Richman and Lawrence O'Neil in July 1890.
I found a baptismal record for Edna Ellen Richman (5-5-1861) that lists parents as Bildad Richman and Nancy Sloan.Sloan was likely the maiden name of Maria's mother based on Maria's death certificate.
Here are all the names on that census record:Ann Richman, Maggie, Alfred, Maria, Edna, Eliza and Charlotte.
Bildad does not appear for some reason. The census was done in Aug 1870 and my records show he died in Oct 1870.So he should have been around for the census.
This family also appears in the Peoria, Illinois census in 1860.At that time Maria was 1 year old and Bildad appears as the father but Mary appears as the mother, not Ann.
I also have the ship passenger record for Bildad coming to the US in 1850 and a census record for him in Peoria in 1850.
If anyone has a connection to this family and would like to share information, please contact me.
