In the past,the earliest records for Richard Riddle/Riddles's[b.1784-85, SC/NC] where-abouts was the 1818-1820 Illinois censuses for Gallatin Co.,ILL. And until recently, it was speculated that he must have resided in Alabama or Tennesse during the early years; 1806 through 1812 at least before moving to Illinois. Richard and Celia's sons Abner and Joab Riddles' listed birthplace has been known as Gallatin, Illinois and birthdate as 1813 which is proven correct by these new records.
These new records prove the location of residence for Richard Riddles,his wife, Priscilla Celia McCutchen Riddles and their family in 1810. Before that date, Illinois was divided into  two counties, St Claire and Randolph Counties, Illinois Territory. Randolph Co. was later divided into multiple counties which included Gallatin County where it is known that Richard and his family lived.
This means that Richard resided for at the least,  twenty some odd years in the State of Illinois before removing to Polk Co., Missouri. The records are as follows:
