I know who your Nixons are -- maybe it will help.William David "Bill" Nixon is the son of Francis Nixon and his 2nd wife, Ann "Annie" Elizabeth Grantham.Francis is the brother of my husband's GGG Grandfather, Harrison Hagarman Nixon.Bill Nixon's paternal grandparents are Joseph Nixon b. 1785/Northern Ireland (Co Antrim I think, but have not proved) and Martha Amelia Ward b. 1783 in Virginia.Joseph & Martha were married in Oglethorpe Co. in 1809. Francis was born there in 1810. Then in Walton Co. for 1820 & 1830 census.Francis marries his 1st wife, Anna Ray, 2 Mar 1837 in Meriwether Co., and is found there for the 1840 & 1850 census. Then Campbell Co for 1860 & 1870.Finally, Coweta Co for 1880.He (allegedly) died in Heard Co., GA in 1881.

I also know of several that are descendents of Bill Nixon's siblings.Maybe they could help, too.
Thank you for the interesting information to add to my files. Now I know how Dora fits in if I run across her in the earlier census records with Bill & Mattie.I have not found Bill in the 1880, 1900-1910 census, so I am guessing he is Alabama.I have not yet torn apart the AL census records for Nixons as throughly as I have those for Georgia.
