The 1910 census of Gettysburg, Adams Co, PA lists Diana Sandoe 73 aunt with Samuel D. Ridinger 56.
The 1870 census of Gettysburg has an Annie Sandoe 32 with Charlie 3 (months maybe?).
The 1880 census of Gettysburg has an Annie Sandoe 43 with son Charles 11 & niece Catherine Caskey 10
A George W. Sandoe married Diana Anne Caskey abt 1862 & was first soldier killed at Gettysburg.
Diana Anna Caskey was born abt 1839 to Isaac Caskey.
Samuel Ridinger born 5/1823 married 2/24/1848 (by Rev J. Fohl in Gettysburg) Louisa Catherine Caskey, daughter of Isaiah & Peggy Caskey (baptized 3/30/1829 St John's Evangelical , Littlestown) & had 2 sons (one of which is Samuel Duffield born 1854) & 2 daughters before she died in 1866.
Samuel (and his 2nd wife, Sarah) also owned a half lot in Gettysburg with Deana Sandoe (presumably Diana?) which was sold to them by John E. Olgenfrutz and his wife in 1866 and he paid Diana $525 evidently for her part in 1975
Isaiah & Peggy Caskey also baptized Eliza Ann Caskey 9/23/1827 at St John's Evangelical. Eliza Ann Caskey married William G. Black 12/5/1854 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown, MD & had 2 sons before she died.
Then found a birth for Mandilla Caskey 6/7/1843 in the parish records of Taneytown listing her parents as Isaiah & Margaret (d'cd) Caskey!
So...conclusions: 1) Diana (Caskey) Sandoe is an aunt to Sameul Duffield Ridinger. 2) Samuel Duffield Ridinger's mother was Louisa Catherine Caskey. 3) Louisa Catherine & Eliza Ann were daughers of Isaiah & Peggy Caskey. 4) Diana Anna was daughter of Isaac Caskey. 5) Catherine Caskey is a niece of Annie Sandoe.
Questions: What is the relationship, if any, between Isaiah Caskey & Isaac Caskey? Who are the parents of Catherine Caskey (born abt 1870)? What is the relationship between Diana Sandoe & Samuel Ridinger (father of Samuel D.)? Who is Mandilla Caskey? (Birth seems to be 15 years after Eliza Ann. Could she be a daughter to another Isaiah & Margaret?)
Anybody have any ideas? Where can I find the answers? Betty
