Hi, Ad, was glad you got my message. Will scan and send copy of newspaper from 1800s printed in Netherlands.Thank you for the information you sent.
Gustaaf Rienks was Married to Christina, they had 6 children, emigrated to USA.Christina died in Wisconsin a few years after they settled there.A few years later he met and married my mother, Harriet,in Indiana. They had 4 children of which I am the eldest. Only my younger brother Jack Rienks and myself are left of the 10 children my father had. However he has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in this country. My brother Jack lives in Florida with his wife Beverly and I live in Nebraska.I am divorced, have 8 children, 14 grand children and 2 great-grand children and live with my second oldest son who is a batchelor but would like to be married. The other children are all married, of course. None had a large family like I did.My father settled in South Bend, Indiana with my mother where he worked as an automotive engineer for the Studebaker Corp.He developed the overdrive gear for Studebaker and the reverse rachet screwdriver, but did not get patents for them. He died March 24, 1948 at the age of 74, just 2 months before I graduated from high school.
I think that is a pretty good short summary of Gustaaf Rienks' life.If you would like I can give you more info about the family here.
Regards, Dorothy
