Elizabeth Ashby Wirt, b. 10-10-1810, Scott Co, KY, d/o of John Wirt and Mary Simms, married Samuel Ringo on 4-6-1826 in Clay Co, MO. She died 4-28-1889, Parksville, MO. Elizabeth survived her husband some 35 years. She was an accomplished pianist and when her daughter developed arthritis of her fingers in later years she always said it was because her mother rapped her fingers with a ruler when she hit a wrong note on the piano. Portraits of Samuel Ringo and his wife Elizabeth are in possession of William K. Hall of St Louis. They are reproduced in his book, The Simms Family of Stafford County, Virginia.
Margaret Simms Wirt, b. 4-18-1815, in KY, d/o of John Wirt and Mary Simms. Married Andrew Hodge Ringo, b. 3-14-1806, on 9-2-1830 in Liberty, MO. Andrew Ringo d. 3-19-1879, Margaret d. 2-19-1874, both are buried in New Cemetary, Richmond, MO.
Andrew and Samuel Ringo were in the grocery and mercantile business. Samuel had the store in Richmond, Mo and Andrew had the store in Liberty, MO
