Current name of this cem = Linden Hill United Methodist Cem.Rosa also m in a Methodist Episcopal Ch & bro John bur in a Lutheran Cem- that may be the decision of John's wife, who outlived John.Rosa's dau, Mary, was m by Francis J Schneider, Lutheran minister. Peter Fetzer may have m one of Rosa's sisters but may have just been a friend. Checked for (P)Fetzer with the first names of Rosa's in the 1870 cen head of household index, & found no possibles. John Ritmiere [sic], 25 [cal b 1845]; b NY, glassblower; Kate, 20, b Germany
Annie, 1, b NY. Conclude this is Catherine Ritter who m John Rittmeyer & is a sis of Rosa Ritter, because: correct first names & surnames, the 2nd fam enum aft Thomas Barnes & Rosa Barnes b Ritter, & living at the same add.
BELIEVE John's wife, Catherine Ritter, alive till at least 1874, because then John Rittmeyer still lived very close to Catherine's bro John & her sis, Rosa. John Rittmeyer's listing in the dir ending 1 May 1875:John Rittmeyer, glass, 398 East Houston. John Ritter, Catharine's brother lived at 390 Houston in 1877 when he married. Thomas Barnes, husband of Rosa Ritter, listed at 393 Houston in dirs ending 1 May 1876 & 1 May 1877. In the dir ending 1 May 1876, John Rittmeyer no longer lived “next door” to these Ritter in-laws: Rittmeier, John, glass, h 628 East 11th
The John listed in the 1880 cen below is the same John Rittmeyer found in the 1870 cen because:
-Both Johns are glassblowers.
-on the cen, near the top left corner, faintly written is "Pitt St[reet]".Thehouse # is 135. John Rittmeyer's add in the Manhattan dir ending 1 May 1883 was 135 Pitt.
-John is b in 1844 - the same year listed in the register of his m.
-Surname sounds similar.

John Whitmeyer [sic; clear in the cen], 36 [cal b 1844]; b NY [= match]; glass blower; parents born Baden
Annie Whitmeyer, 42 [clear in the cen; cal b 1838], wife, glass blower [sic]
Children b NY & their parents ALL b Prussia. All children = “Whitmeyers.”
Charles, 12, son, "cigar box nails." Emma, 10, dau; Annie, 4, dau; John, 2, son
Comment: Did Catharine die btwn 1870 & 1880, or was Annie her then preferred name. If this is Catharine, her age should be 32 not 42; parents born Prussia - but Kate b Ritter was b in Alsace. Perhaps using a generalized locality description. The only child listed in 1870 cen was “Annie.” Suggests the mother listed as “Kate” in the 1870 cen may also have gone by "Annie." (John's mo was Margaret.)
Comment: Infer the children are Annie's but not John's because the parents of all the children given as b in Prussia, although the head of house was b in NY. Also the children - John, Charles & Emma were not listed in 1870 cen, which suggests they were not John's children.
Comment: Found by using Latter-day Saint [Mormon] 1880 cen disks. Searched for the word "glass" in Manhattan. This was the only good possible.
